Here’s the Chili recipe for those moms who enjoy ‘hot and spicy’ food. The first time we had it the recipe was made by a vegetarian. While we loved the chili, we aren’t vegetarians so we add ham to our chili. Enjoy
Chili Style Lentil Soup
Simmer covered 35 minutes
6-1/2 c water
1# lentils
2 med chopped onions
Add and simmer 20 min
3 TBL Tamari (or soy sauce)
1TBL Chile Powder
1/2 tsp cumin
2 tsp garlic
2 tsp basil
6oz tomato paste
7oz green chilies
20 oz can tomatoes with juice (chopped tomatoes–I used my homemade Salsa which added a bit of extra heat to the chili)
1 TBL salt
1/2 tsp cayenne
1# chopped ham
