DIY: The Family Room is Complete, Part IX

Last evening DH called me into the family room and declared that the room is finished.   Let me share our new room with you, and see if you agree.

We start with the doubtful look on this dog’s face.  Notice how tired he is.  Tired of the remodel too.  But it is complete!

The new little lights in the hallway are in:

My OSU Cat’s Meow  buildings are in place.  DH installed new trimwork that was wide enough for these to sit securely on their narrow shelf. Oh, the paint color is Butternut Squash.

(you’re also getting a little glimpse into the kitchen.  I love the new light over the kitchen table’s design.  But that room is not finished yet.)

The window blinds went into their place last evening and I love their look.

But what is all this stuff?

Tools?  Step ladders?  Buckets?

And on the mantel, there are more tools, and screwdrivers, and more screwdrivers….  Would you call this room complete?  Finished?

Ahh, look at this beautiful wood floor.  I love the natural red oak wood floor, and it ties the kitchen in with the family room wonderfully.  But, what’s this?  Boxes?

How can a room be complete when tools, step ladders, empty boxes, buckets, and equipment is left all throughout the room?

Along the wall are more tools, tools I moved from my kitchen island to this room.  Do you know that tools grow and multiple if given sufficient room.  But, is this a guy-thing? To call a room complete when there’s equipment left everywhere?

I must admit that the males have been doing some clean-up work as evidence by the shop-vac left behind.   But is the room complete and finished?

He agrees with me (I think he does at least)

Beautiful! It’s so warm and rich. The room, even with the tools, looks like it has such a cozy and inviting feel!

    Can’t wait until it’s finished/finished.

  2. mtpleasant:

Thanks Frankie. DH said the TV wall mount will arrive tomorrow so hopefully that will signal the exit of the tools and the entrance of the furniture.
