Painting, and more painting

This morning, bright and early—-well, not that early as compared to Early Birds but very early by a late-sleeper’s clock (8am)—-the 5 gallon pail of paint was opened, paint poured into the paint tray, the roller was dipped into the paint, and color went onto the family room walls. Soon color was going on the foyer walls.

By 10am I had to pop a few Vitamin ‘I’s’, but the painting continued, and continued.

At 2pm Mark asked for lunch, and I popped a few more Vitamin I’s, but on I trudged putting roller stroke after roller stroke onto these TWO-STORY-HIGH walls.

Finally I stopped with the roller and turned to cutting using the new, nifty cutting tool DH had picked up for the job. Right, what did I need with this new gadget for? I could always rely on my trusty brush for such a job. Oh my. How wrong was I? This new gadget was quick. It was efficient. It was……perfect.

By 7:30 pm DH insisted that we go out for a bite to eat.  I popped a few more Vitamin I’s

Please do not ask me to lift my right arm.

Ahhh, color! Butternut is now on my walls. It looks rich and beautiful and goes very well with the Curry Green color on the kitchen walls, IMHO (how do these companies come up with the names?)

And tomorrow. Tomorrow I must apply the second coat and hope and pray that I have enough paint.

ps — and while I painted DH laid tile in the powder room and laid the backsplash tile. The kitchen is looking fabulous!

I’m anxious to see pictures! And I want to know what the handy gadget is, too. I don’t like cutting in, so any tools that make it nice would be wonderful!

Shur-Line Edge Like a Pro, ceiling and trim paint edger. That is THE tool to get. Skip the Shur-Line corner painter. That one drips and doesn’t fill in the corners.

I just wanted to state — for the record — that I was, in fact, awake before 8 AM on Saturday morning. ;)

Can’t wait to see the progress!
