South West Trip Part 1
Back when I became a mom I had one recurring dream, ok, as a mom you have many dreams for your kids but one dream in particular was to take them out west on a cross-country trip to see this great and beautiful country of ours (sorry to my overseas readers but here I’m talking about the USA).
Two summers ago the boys and I went cross-country, traveling to Rocky Mt. National Park, Tetons, Yellowstone, Dinosaur, Craters of the Moon, Wind Cave, Jewell Cave, Mt. Rushmore and many other sites in between. It was a grand 7-weeks that we have reflected upon time and time again. The trip was based upon one I had gone on with Worthington Field Studies as a high school sophomore oh so many years ago. I chronicled that trip along the way here on this blog.
Today is another landmark day. Today my boys and I started on our southwestern field trip. For this trip we will be gone for a little bit more than two months traveling to Guadalupe Mts., Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, Saguaro, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Canyonlands, Bryce, Zion, Death Valley, El Capitan Beach, Big Sur, Sequoia, Yosemite and many other spots in-between. Stop in and read about our stops, the sights we see, the hikes we go on, and the memories we make as we travel. I’ll be posting when we stop at wifi cafes.
Oh, and if you live near one of those stops, please drop me a line and let me know of sights that we should make sure to see!
