Building a Garage
The work on Pat’s 4-car garage began while we were traveling out west. He quickly put the boys to work on the garage when we returned home though. First DH supervised SK as he moved stone into the footer forms.

Last Saturday just before the rain came, the cement was poured for the foundation footers. SK worked beside the cement truck driver moving the cement into the forms—that’s SK in the green shirt:

This weekend the block work began. SK mixed mortar and delivered it to his Dad while MK did some tuck work. They completed laying the block for all four corners.

I fear though that at this rate the block work will take several weekends rather than just this weekend.
Now, how do I describe this on SK’s high school transcript?

Industrial Arts! When I was in highschool we go highschool credits if we signed up for the class that built a house. Every year one house got built and then sold. It was big time credit AND a great learning experience. Just think of the things he is learning! Glad to see it is coming along.

Of ccourse — should I also have him log his hours of work, and what he does during those hours? This part of hs’ing is new to me.
